Authorities are investigating after a Veterans Affairs officer shot a man at a VA facility in Dallas this morning, Dallas police said.About 11:50 a.m., Dallas police were dispatched to the Polk Street Primary Care Clinic after a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs officer shot a man. The clinic is run by the VA department.
Officials declined to release details and said the wounded person was taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The officer was not injured.
VA North Texas Health Care System said in an email statement that it is providing counseling for veterans and staff at the clinic.
“We want to reassure our Veterans and staff that providing health care in a safe environment is our main priority, and no one inside the clinic was harmed,” the statement reads.
